Definition
Perform all required work related to the operation and maintenance of all Town roads, storm drains, plowing, sanding snow removal, tree work, traffic control, and all other work associated as required.
Supervision
Work under the general supervision of the Public Works Superintendent, Operations Supervisor, or assigned supervisor.
Perform work functions as assigned daily, while practicing independent judgment in determining appropriate and safe methods.
Wear and use all allocated personal protective equipment and clothing, and be vigilant about the safety of yourself, your colleagues, and the public.
Job Environment
Work requires being outside in all types of weather conditions.
Operate trucks, snow plows, sanders, power tools, hand tools, chainsaws, mowers, trimmers, shovels, rakes, and brooms. etc.
Have occasional contact with the general public requiring tact and sensitivity. Able to follow instructions and cooperate with colleagues.
Essential Functions

Assist in the overall maintenance and improvement of town-owned property and equipment. Capable of operating motor equipment. Successful applicants must be available after normal business hours to keep town roads clear of snow and ice or any other necessary response to keep roads and public property safe.
Responsible for the care and maintenance of all tools and equipment.
Recommended Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
High School diploma and one to three years of experience related to road maintenance, construction, or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
Special Requirements
Applicant must possess a valid Class B Commercial driver's license. Class A preferred.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to lift heavy objects, handle and operate tools and controls, and stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
